- Delivered by Pam Howard, these Practical and theory workshops address the new GCSE spec and A Level Dance. The sessions prepare students for assessments in and across the three key areas below, linked to professional works:

GCSE Dance - session content details
25 May: Performance skills for solo composition, solo choreography and group dance. Non practical, looking at student work and methodology of improving standards in student skills. Use of textbook and teacher guide.
8 June: Choreographic skills and devices appropriate for solo composition and choreographic assignments. Both practical and theory approaches, looking at student work and methodology of improving standards in students choreographic skills. Reference will be made to the 2nd edition textbook. and teacher guide
15 June: Appreciation of set works: knowledge required, application of examples and structuring the learning for writing relevantly. Non practical, looking at questions, revision planning and useful resources.
22 June: Looking at recordings of AS and A2 student performance tasks to identify skills relevant to each level and question. Planning a programme of work leading to final assessments or examination.
6 July: Preparing for written papers DANC1 and DANC3 with a focus on professional works and practitioners. Research facilities and planning schemes to improve students abilities to answer the questions.
